Are you dreading turning 30? Have a little fun with your birthday by taking a “death to my twenties” photoshoot to really celebrate!

Turning 30 is definitely a milestone worth celebrating. Remember when we were 18 so ready for our 20s and how fun and wild they would be only for it to be the most chaotic years. Or at least for me my 20s was definitely not the glamours life the movies made it seem to be. But coming into the 30s, now this was intimidating. A ‘death to my youth” or “funeral for my twenties” birthday shoot is a fun way to symbolize the growth and challenges you overcame. It can be an artistic metamorphosis from that wild spirit who makes all the mistakes in life to the mature person who’s learned a thing or two. 

Why a photoshoot?
Turning thirty can feel a little bit daunting at first. I remember the night before my 30th birthday having an absolute panic attack. I wondered all the what ifs and the mistakes I made weighed heavy on my chest. I wondered if my 30s were going to be the same or if I really would “change”. If you are feeling this way, or any emotions of dread, fear, etc., about turning 30, I want you to know that you are not alone. We all have similar experiences or at least in my circle of clients it’s pretty normal.

It’s not only a good idea to do some reflecting, it’s necessary. Think about all you’ve accomplished in these past few years, all you hope to accomplish in the next few years, all the memories you’ve made and all of the good times to come. Celebrate all of this in your photos.
